ACTS is a mentoring program comprised of girls ages 8-18. The purpose is to develop a mentorship relationship where young people can have access to trusted adults who will give them information on vocational, educational, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual matters.
Mentoring groups meet twice a month to engage in activities that promote self esteem, growth in their personal faith in God and serve the community. Activities such as field trips to cultural and art events are made to promote cultural literacy. We also provide opportunities for community service and encourage our girls to be service oriented. The hope is to expand the awareness of young people to the needs of the community at large. Mentors are subjected to background screening and are provided training. They are volunteers who profess a faith in Christ as Lord and are concerned for today's youth. This program is only available to girls ages 8-18. As our program is currently paused, we recommend that you contact your local Boys & Girls Club, PAL, or YMCA to identify any current activities that your youth may be able to participate in. 386-873-1772 |
2021-2022 Program is paused. Check back for information on next registration.
As most organizations will testify, 2020 posed quite a few challenges for our team of mentors and our mentees. By God's grace we were able to maintain an adjusted program for our girls.
We didn't meet in person, but we were able to have them meet virtually to engage in some activities and hear from some people from different professions and different parts of the world. Check out our Facebook site to see what were able to accomplish. We trust that we will once again be able to provide meaningful content and activities for the youth in our community soon. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (NIV) |
